The Nedbank Desert Dash is the longest single-stage mountain bike (MTB) race in the world, covering 401 kilometers across the Namib Desert.
The event challenges cyclists to ride from the capital city, Windhoek, to the coastal town of Swakopmund (finishing at the Platz am Meer waterfront) within a strict 24-hour time limit.
The race attracts both amateur and professional cyclists from around the globe to tackle one of the most isolated and geologically ancient landscapes on Earth.
