The Two Oceans Marathon is globally lauded as ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’ thanks to the natural splendour of its ultra marathon route. It also boasts South Africa’s biggest Half Marathon.
The Two Oceans Half Marathon was added to the event in 1998, and attracts a sold-out field, first-time round, year-on-year. The 2026 Half Marathon will mark the 27th edition of this incredibly popular race.
The Half Marathon is a great event if you’d love to be a part of the Ultra Marathon, but are not quite ready for the gruelling 56km. You’ll run through Claremont, Wynberg, Constantia, the famed Southern Cross Drive and then make your way back to Newlands, followed by the UCT Finish Fields in Rondebosch.
Expect an incredible atmosphere – typically, the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon is home to the best fan and spectator support you could wish to have.
The event is run under the auspices of Athletics South Africa (ASA) and Western Province Athletics (WPA). making a uniquely indelible mark on not only the South African road running circuit, but on the soul of a nation itself.
